Utilize a tap socket to hold your tap securely in place! Simply slide your tap into the components of a tap socket set until you find the socket that holds your tap securely. Depending of the amount of extra length you need, you can use this with a tap handle, or ratchet wrench. For a Tap Socket Set, we recommend #99-013-310
Since the base of a tap's shank is typically a square, a 12 point socket can hold a tap… but not very securely. Once you have determined the socket that's right for your tap, use electric tape to secure the tap within the socket and prevent it from slipping out or wobbling. For a 12 Point Socket Set, we recommend #99-500-915 or #99-200-271
Having a lot of difficulty removing a screw? There's a good chance you need some heat! Using a torch and applying heat to the screw for a few moments often loosens and softens the hold thread locker that may have been applied to the screw has on it, allowing you to more easily back a screw out of a hole and remove it!
